Auto Chess Beast Warrior
One of the strategies I’m using to improve my skills in Auto Chess Mobile is reviewing my own games. Streaming on Twitch gives me easy access to replays that I can look over for bad habits and playstyle weaknesses. My first goal is to identify my play patterns that lead to top three finishes and here is an Auto Chess Beast Warrior game that placed 1st.
Round Review
The following is a text round-by-round review with commentary on the decision making that is best used alongside the video. You can find the video that goes along with this review on my Twitch Channel. There is a summary at the end of the article where I try to identify winning decisions and weaker decisions.
Round 1 // Buy: Tusk Champion, Play: Tusk Champion.
Round 2 // Buy: Redaxe Chief, Play: Redaxe Chief.
Round 3 // Buy: Ripper, Soul Breaker, Play: Ripper.
Round 4 // Buy: Swordman, & pair of Egersis Ranger, Play: Swordman, Comment: start with three Warrior, and two Cave Clan.
Round 5 // Buy: Warpwood Sage, 2* Skybreaker, Sell: Up to 4g, Play: 2* Skybreaker, Comment: added Mech bonus.
Round 6 // Buy: Swordman, Comment: paired Swordman and ignored Mages in shop due to no magic items.
Round 7 // Buy: Soulbreaker, Sell: Up to 10g for interest, Comment: ignored Knights in shop after scouting that it’s contested.
Round 8 // Buy: Redaxe Chief, Comment: saved gold to hit 20g with a win, and option to buy Windranger if I lose the round.
Round 9 // Buy: +EXP for level 6, Ripper, Play: Soul Breaker, Comment: activated three Goblins and paired Ripper, rolled once to finish pairs and missed, lost winstreak.
Round 10 // Buy: Pirate Captain, Tusk Champion, Play: Pirate Captain over Tusk Champion, Comment: counted gold value of goblins to see if we can hit 30g, decided to keep goblins to restart winstreak.
Round 11 // Play: Items on Skybreaker, Comment: looked over bag for good items to winstreak and didn’t decide on items.
Round 12 // Buy: 2* Tusk Champion, Abyssal Guard, Reroll once, 2* Redaxe Chief, Play: 2* Tusk Champion over Redaxe Chief, Comment: 1) option to sell Goblins and hit 40g by playing all Warriors, FAILED to get 2* Redaxe Chief on board.
Round 13 // Buy: Lord of Sand, and Druid, Play: Lord of Sand, Sell: Goblin pairs, Comment: Activated two Beast, didn’t hit 50g by selling and should have kept pairs for possible 2*, and bought a Druid too soon.
Round 14 // Buy: God of War, Comment: Held 50g for interest
Round 15 // Buy: 2* God of War, +EXP for level 7, Play: 2* God of War over Skybreaker, Sell: 2* Skybreaker, Comment: Two Beast and six Warriors at level 7.
Round 16 // Comment: Lacking Werewolf and Worm and questioned rolling at level 7 or 8. Decided to level and increase chance to find 4g units.
Round 17 // Buy: Werewolf, Tusk Champion x2, +EXP for level 8. Play: Werewolf. Comment: Looking to sell God of War for fourth Beast or Marine bonus while rolling and maintaining 50g of interest.
Round 18 // Buy: 2* Abyssal Guard, 2* Poisonous Worm, Doom Arbiter, and Lucky Egg. Play: Activate 4 Beast, Replace God of War and Redaxe Chief with Doom and Abyssal Guard. Comment: Skipped Lord of Sand pair to save gold. No Lucky Egg target.
Round 19 // Buy: Doom Arbiter, Play: Lucky Egg on Doom, and picked out items to make a Shadow Edge and Steel Platemail for Doom. Comment: Realizing that I’m slow to pick items and benefit from their use.
Round 20 // Buy: Abyssal Guard, Comment: Choosing to stay at level 8 to roll for 3* and maintaining interest. Watching the 3 Mage hit 6 Mage and will buy level 9 to add Marine.
Round 21 // Buy: Poisonous Worm, Play: Picked a Wooden Club to finish an Oblivion Staff. Comment: Oblivion a safe bet since there are more Feathered than Mage to worry about.
Round 22 // Buy: Abyssal Guard, and Siren. Comment: Continuing to scout and see 6 Mage went online. Consider Warlock as level 9 synergy.
Round 23 // Buy: Doom Arbiter, and Razorclaw. Play: Razorclaw over Lord of Sand. Sell: Siren, and Doom. Comment: Looks like I have not decided on what 3*s I can finish. Bench mismanagement.
Round 24 // Buy: Siren. Comment: More greed in trying to 3* a Worm that’s not carrying items. First Magicka Crystal definitely landing on a Siren.
Round 25 // Buy: Siren 2*, Play: picked a Ghost Blade from the Store to finish Monkey King Cane.
Round 26 // Buy: 2* Werewolf, Abyssal Guard, 2* Razorclaw, and +EXP for level 9. Rolled down to 20g and made 2* Swordman, and 2* Pirate Captain. Play: 2* Siren. Comment: Looks very greedy to keep Worm and Razorclaw on the bench. Low priority for finishing 3*.
Round 27 // Buy: Abyssal Guard, and Poisonous Worm. Sell: Poisonous Worms on bench. Comment: Finally giving up on 3* that is a low priority.
Round 28 // Buy: Doom Arbiter, Warpwood Sage, Tusk Champion, and Whisper Seer. Sell: Warpwood Sage, and Doom Arbiter. Comment: Selling the Doom shows me that I gave up on 3* Doom. Bad shopping round since now I’ve whitelisted those units for the next three shops.
Round 29 // Buy: Razorclaw. Comment: Decided I can live another round before searching for 3*. Risky move since I’m only one piece away from a 3* Abyssal Guard. Selling the Razorclaws could even give me four more rerolls.
Round 30 // Buy: 3* Abyssal Guard. Play: Picked a Pulse Staff for Siren, picked a Hammer and finished a Barbaric Cuirass for Doom.
Round 31 // Play: Finished Barbaric Cuirass and placed extra Rune Hammer on Doom, Pulse Staff on Siren, spread out extra Wooden Clubs, Comment: Saving gold for level 10 for Warlock
Round 32 // Buy: EXP for level 10, Play: Razorclaw, Comment: Could have played 2* Tusk and sold Razorclaws to roll for Warlock or Legendaries.
Round 33 // Buy: Rerolls, and Venomancer, Play: Venomancer over Razorclaw, Comment: Finally decided to sell one Razorclaw for gold. I’m so stubborn.
Round 34 // Buy: Warpwood Sage, Play: Finished Maelstrom on Doom, and Monkey King Cane on Siren. Comment: Still trying to finish a Razorclaw.
WIN at 1st Place!
Summary of Decisions
Let’s bring it all together. What did I learn by reviewing this game?
1) After losing a winstreak, seriously consider restarting the streak or building up gold for interest. Building up gold could mean selling off pairs that won’t make it to the final team or even selling off less important units to hit multiple of ten gold.
2) While aiming for Beast Warriors, there isn’t much reason to hold a Druid on the bench until you have a Razorclaw.
3) An early 2* Doom Arbiter, is a really good candidate for carrying the team.
4) Throughout the late game, it looks like I do not have realistic goals for 3* units. I held on to Poisonous Worms and Razorclaws that were very unlikely to get finished. In this game, it was more important to level to add Marine or Warlock.
5) Not having priorities set for 3* units lead to whitelisting units that we didn’t need and this wasted some of our natural rolls from the shop.
6) I spend gold too slowly. For example, I was one Abyssal Guard away from a 3* and didn’t pursue even when low on health.
That’s all for this review! I’m actually surprised we placed first after watching this replay. If you enjoyed this review, be sure to check us out on Twitch for more gaming content.
